A Bullskin Township man who earned his Eagle Scout and was active in various organizations in the community, died late last week from injuries suffered in April in a motorcycle crash.
A funeral service for William L. Eutsey, 23, was held yesterday. He died at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh on April 29.
State police at Uniontown said the crash occurred at 12:20 p.m. April 11 on Route 982 in Bullskin. Police said Eutsey lost control of his 2005 Yamaha Road Star.
According to state, the cycle left the western side of the road and traveled about 40 feet before striking a wooden fence, overturning and finally coming to rest in a ditch — on top of Eutsey.
Eutsey was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Eutsey was the son of Leonard D. and Linda Baysinger Eutsey of Connellsville.
He graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 2005.
He attended California University of Pennsylvania and Westmoreland County Community College. He was employed as a correctional officer for SCI Greene.
Eutsey was involved in many organizations since he was in high school. He held memberships in the CAHS Patriots, the Connellsville Auxiliary Police, the Blue Knights, Pride, the Mock Trail Organization at Cal-U, was Billy the Bull for the Bullskin Township Historical Society and was a member of the Wooddale Church of the Brethren.
Eutsey was also privileged to attain the rank of 7 Palm Eagle Scout.
